‘Support from the DEPHY network through the production of agroecological knowledge that takes into account biotic pressures and the landscape in pomiculture and viticulture’
The DEPHY network generates unique data on agronomic practices, particularly in agricultural systems that use low levels of pesticides, for the purpose of producing knowledge in agronomy and agroecology. A primary objective of the ARPHY-PV-Paysage thesis project is to understand the links between variability in pesticide use on DEPHY network farms in apple growing and viticulture, depending on their landscape context and local pest pressures. To achieve this objective, we will seek to cross-reference data on the agronomic performance of farms collected in the Agrosyst database with i) data on localized pest pressures on vines and apples from plant health bulletins (BSV) and biological monitoring of the territory (SBT), and with ii) mapping data on land use and the proportion of organic farming surrounding DEPHY farm plots. A second objective is to understand these same links at the regional level, based on data from orchards in the lower Durance valley and vineyards in the Bacchus workshop site. The challenge is to identify certain landscape characteristics in which farmers use fewer plant protection products.
