CBC research team

Conservation biological control aims to enhance pest regulation by the community of natural enemies naturally present in agroecosystems, in combination with other biological control practices. The CBC research team conducts its work in orchards within the broader framework of conservation biological control, in a context of pesticide reduction, land-use change and climate change. Our research focuses on the dynamics of pest populations, as well as beneficial insect and vertebrate communities, throughout their life cycles, including periods when they rely on resources outside orchards. Understanding these processes often requires considering spatial scales larger than that of the orchard.
