As it does every year, spring marks the start of the CBC team’s field campaign in the Lower Durance Valley. The team conducts ecological surveys in apple orchards with the aim of promoting practices that support biodiversity and finding agroecological solutions to pest control.
This year, approximately 60 plots are being monitored as part of seven ambitious scientific projects, organized around three main areas: sensor-based monitoring, direct observation, and the evaluation of agroecological innovation trials.
In total, about ten protocols are being implemented throughout the spring, involving some twenty people (researchers, technicians, temporary staff, and interns).
